Ski Trip 2027 - 11 - 19 February 2027

We are very pleased to announce that we will be running the ski trip again in February half term 2027. This trip is for all year groups and all standards of skiing, from beginner to expert.

We will be travelling with SkiTeam4, who are ABTA bonded, and our accommodation will be the Hotel Ennshof, Altenmarkt, which is ten to fifteen minutes away from the bottom lift station of our chosen ski area at the glacier. We will be based in The Salzburger Sportwelt area, which is the core of Ski Amadé: Austria’s largest ski paradise. The whole Amadé ski area offers an immense 860 kilometres of piste, with the Salzburger Sportwelt sector connecting several towns and villages. This includes the four valleys of Radstadt, Flachau, Wagrain and St Johann im Pongau. We also have the option of skiing at other locations in the valley should conditions make this necessary. Please note that this year, the trip is purely for skiing and there will not be the option to snowboard.

The trip will take place over the February half term holiday 2027; we plan to depart on Thursday 11th February and return on Friday 19th February 2027. The final departure and arrival times are to be confirmed by the ski company.

A strict payment plan has been put in place by the tour company and it is vital that it is adhered to.

THE SKI TRIP

Where do we start with the Ski trip, 6 days of making the best memories  with a fantastic bunch of students from year 8 to year 11. 43 students had a brilliant opportunity to learn or improve their skiing or snowboarding skills a week we wont be forgetting.

We started the trip off with a 24 hour coach journey through the night to the Austrian mountains where we arrived at a traditional Austrian hotel where we would call home for the week. The hotel was perfect with lots of space for free time with a pool table, table tennis tables and two common rooms. We where so incredibly lucky with the weather with blue skies and glorious sunshine every day.

Each day the students had 5 hours of skiing which is a hard feet for even the most experienced of skiers and boarders, the students fully embodied the Rodborough Rs especially resilience. There was a jam packed evening entertainment from team building to traditional Austrian curling

There where so many memorable moments from the biggest of all wipe-outs, losing ski poles and lift passes, forgetting to put salopettes on in the morning, sliding down the hill on our bums when we were too tired to ski but by far the highlight of the trip was the lunch time party at the top of the mountain on the last day.

A massive thank you to all the staff that helped out during their half term break and to the students for being amazing.

A special mention to Lucca E and Joey H for being awarded King and Queen of the mountain. – Miss Bullock
