Explorer Week 2025
We are delighted to confirm details for our Explorer Week at the end of this academic year. Our usual timetable will be collapsed and a wide variety of activities celebrating the ‘Rodborough 5 Rs’ will be on offer for Years 7-10 between Wednesday 8th and Friday 10th July, with some trips extending into the weekend.
Year 9 Explorers Week
We’re excited to be able to share our Year 9 Explorer Week package with you and your child. Rodborough will be running a series of off-timetable activities across three days in July (8-10 July); there will be both a residential trip and non-residential opportunity for students to choose from. Please note, the residential trip will take place from 7-10th July.
A booklet which outlines both of the packages available below. Please look through this with your child and, when you have chosen the package you would like your child to take part in, please sign up for this via Arbor Pay. In selecting and paying for your chosen package via Arbor Pay, you are giving consent for your child to take part in these activities. Please make your choices for Explorer Week 2025 by Friday, 26th September, 2025.
Please note that the price stated for the residential trip is currently approximate. This price is dependent on the number of students and final booking confirmation of the different aspects of the trip. We have a limit of 50 places available on this trip. If numbers exceed this, we will allocate places by way of lottery and the remaining students will be placed on a waiting list. We ask that you pay a deposit of £150 if choosing the residential trip; this is non-refundable if your child is allocated a place on the trip. All residential trip costs will be paid in instalments.
If choosing the residential option, please be aware that your child will need a valid passport and a UK Global Health Insurance Card, both of which you will need to provide. Please check that your child’s passport is:
- issued less than 10 years before the date we leave the country (check the ‘date of issue’)
- valid for at least 3 months after the day we will return home (check the ‘expiry date’)
If your child’s passport was not issued in the UK you will need to apply for a visa.
If you would find it helpful to pay for the non-residential package in instalments, please email me at twhite@rodborough.surrey.sch.uk and I will liaise with the Finance department.
If you find yourself unable to contribute due to financial hardship, please write to the Vice Principal, Mr C. Williams at the above address or email him at cwilliams@rodborough.surrey.sch.uk. The matter will be dealt with in the utmost confidence.
