GCSE Results 2024

Congratulations to Year 11 who have achieved the school’s best ever results in this year’s GCSE summer exams!

81% of students achieved a pass in English and Maths, with 64% of the achieving a Grade 5 or above, up nearly 10% from the year before. The school’s average GCSE grade was 5.56. In Geography, German and History, 47%, 48% and 49% of students respectively achieved the highest 9-7 grades. Overall, 33% of all GCSE grades achieved were at 9-7 compared to 22% nationally and 87% of all grades were a 9-4 grade with national being 70.4%.

As well as the fantastic team success, there were some inspiring individual stories. Katie Heslop achieved the highest possible grade of a 9 in 11 GCSE examinations. But equally as inspiring were the grades achieved by Oscar Budd who had life changing operations this year but still achieved 7 GCSE passes. There were many other stories of students who had demonstrated grit in overcoming personal challenges and tragedies.

Principal Emma Hunston stated that, “The 2024 results are down to the incredible teamwork between the school, parents and students. I am incredibly grateful to the Rodborough staff that have guided, nurtured and inspired the Year 11s through their journey.  I’d also like to thank the parents for their support. We are so delighted that these fantastic results mean that the class of 2024 have so many opportunities available to them on the next stage of their adventures. We are so excited to see them grow and flourish.
