The Governing Body

Overview

The Governing Body has responsibility for setting and monitoring overall strategic direction, approving policy  and appointing key staff members.

The Governors meet as a Full Board three times each year. All decisions reserved to the Governors are taken by the Board as a whole. Governing Board committees also meet between three and five times each year to consider detailed matters and recommend decisions to the full Board.

There are currently five such committees:

  • Curriculum
  • Relationships
  • Resources
  • Policy
  • Health, Safety and Site

In addition, the pay committee meets twice a year to confirm pay decisions.

During the Academic year 2017/2018 the Governors considered 2 formal complaints through the complaints procedure.
