The Governing Body has responsibility for setting and monitoring overall strategic direction, approving policy and appointing key staff members.
The Governors meet as a Full Board three times each year. All decisions reserved to the Governors are taken by the Board as a whole. Governing Board committees also meet between three and five times each year to consider detailed matters and recommend decisions to the full Board.
There are currently five such committees:
In addition, the Pay Committee meets twice a year to confirm pay decisions.
At the Full Governors' Meeting on 15 September 2021, Governors agreed that Part I of their termly Local Governing Body meetings will remain open to the public as in previous years. Part II (confidential matters) will not be open to the public. Should any member of the public wish to attend Part I of a Local Governing Body meeting, they are asked to notify the Clerk in advance (pward@rodborough.surrey.sch.uk) so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
